Carroll Gardens — from its stately brownstone townhomes and picturesque cathedrals, to its multitude of businesses and busy, colorful streets, Carroll Gardens is quintessential Brooklyn and one of its oldest, most vibrant neighborhoods.

Supremely walkable and a quick commute to Manhattan, Carroll Gardens boasts some of the best shopping and dining in NYC. Aside from a variety of modern hot-spots, there are many long-standing businesses. G. Esposito & Sons Pork Store at 357 Court Street is almost a century old, and Scotto’s Wine Cellar is Brooklyn’s oldest wine shop. The family-run D’Amico’s Food at 309 Court Street has been providing the area with fresh pasta and home-roasted coffee for decades.

This community is also one of Brooklyn’s most family friendly areas, and home to some wonderful schools. Zoned for School District 15, P.S.58 has a long history of academic excellence. There is now also an International School on Court Street. Lovely Carroll Park is a block-long area of playgrounds, walkways and sitting areas between Court and Smith Streets. Houses of worship, toy stores, and a great amount of young children add to the family appeal.

Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, and Downtown Brooklyn are all within walking distance. The area is served by the F and G Trains at Bergen Street and the newly renovated Smith and 9th Street Station.
